Real ID Informational Session with Representative Gaydos
April 23 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm
I want to let my constituents know that I will be hosting a series of REAL ID informational seminars, beginning in April.
Residents who wish to learn more about the REAL ID program or who have questions regarding the program are encouraged to attend the seminars, which will include an informational presentation by representatives from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.
With so many changes to the REAL ID program, it can be daunting and confusing to understand. The purpose of these seminars is to give residents an opportunity to come and get informed about the program, ask questions and learn about the best way to obtain a REAL ID, if they want one.
The seminars will be as follows:
- Monday, April 1, from 6-7:30 p.m. at the Western Allegheny Community Library, 181 Bateman Road, Oakdale.
- Thursday, April 11, from 6:30-8 p.m. at the Moon Public Library, 1700 Beaver Grade Road, Moon Twp.
- Tuesday, April 23, from 6-7:30 p.m. at the Sewickley Public Library, 500 Thorn St., Sewickley.
As of now, enforcement of the REAL ID Act will begin on Oct. 1, 2020, meaning Pennsylvanians will need a REAL ID-compliant license, identification card or an acceptable alternative identification as approved by Transportation Security Administration (such as a passport) to board domestic commercial flights or enter a federal facility.
REAL IDs are now available to Pennsylvanians who want them.
Participants are encouraged to bring their documents to see if they have the correct documentation to begin the process of obtaining a REAL ID.
Those who wish to attend can RSVP by calling my district office at 412-262-3780.
I hope to see you there!
