SHAPE Event: Importance of Local Government
January 24 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
SHAPE kicks off 2019 with a January 24 event at the Edgeworth Club (511 East Drive, Sewickley) that will emphasize the importance of local government. We are all very focused on what is happening in Washington, but there is much that happens in local government that truly impacts our everyday lives. Few of us fully understand decisions being made at the borough/township level. So please join us to socialize, share ideas and discuss the impact that we can have right here in our own community.
There will be a brief presentation by Susan Hockenberry, Executive Director of Quaker Valley Council of Governments (QVCOG), followed by a panel discussion with a number of local government officials, including SHAPE member Christine Allen (Sewickley borough council), Sarah Heres (QVSD School Board president), and other local officials. The evening starts with a social half-hour, cash bar, at 6:30 pm at the Edgeworth Club, followed by presentation and discussion at 7:00 pm. This is a non-partisan event, with representatives from both the Quaker Valley Democrats and Sewickley Valley GOP participating.
Please join us in learning more about the important role that our local government officials make in our community!
